Match Report

Sunday 1 September -v- St. John & Seal at Seal
Despite the marvellous success of last week, the skip was welcomed back to resume control of a rampant side looking to complete the season with a string of victories.
A career best 92 from Darkie and a solid supporting fifty from fertile loins Clark set up a target of 220, as once again we struck a rich vein of runs. Seal were never really in the hunt, with there blend of useless youthful exuberance and old twits combining to lose wickets faster than we really wanted to take them. Seal's ineptitude served to give all our bowlers a good chance of reward and the majority took the opportunity to accrue cheap victims. Chris and Gordon were the notable exceptions - enough said!! All in all the ease of victory made it a little hollow, and the fact that most of the Seal side had to finish their homework, made for a less than memorable evening in the Five Bells. We tried our best to drink huge quantities of Harveys Best Bitter so that our rampant imaginations could be tempered into bullshitting what a good game it had been, but even ten pints on only the skip was babbling incomprehensively about the greatest result of his career.
Pen Pics
Chuckles -Laughed his way to a third consecutive zero
Darkie -Innings of immense concentration, got silly when it matters
Danglers - Plumb LBW
Potent Sperm -Another effortless fifty - almost as irritating as Daz
Sumo -Surely should be opening batting and bowling
Tommy -Textbook captaincy
Duckie - In line for a regular spinner’s berth next year.
Tight -Gave very little away in an economic spell
Fats -Tsk tsk tsk!!
Darth -Where was he?
Old -Disappointed that he could not shower early this week.
