Match Report

2 August -v- Knights at Chislehurst.
With a three month unbeaten run stretching behind us, we began August with potentially our toughest fixture; a real test of our ability to take on higher calibre opposition. On a typically patchy and green Chislehurst wicket the skip won the toss and elected to field.
Almost immediately the track started to play up, causing an array of false shots and with it a dramatic fall of wickets. Daz and Darth had only to keep the ball pitched up to find reward and only a robust 30 from their skip averted total catastrophe. In only 17 overs we hustled Knights out for just 84, with Daz five wickets and Jim four sharing the spoils. Unfortunately, having had the pleasure of seeing Knights obvious discomfort, we too had to endure the wickets wrath. Our collapse was even more spectacular, with half the side back in the pavilion before tea and only six runs on the board. Duckie and Daz temporarily steadied the ship and took us to respectability, but another collapse and the demise of Danglers to a shooter, put the seal on defeat. To add salt Knights took the beer match far too seriously and won that as well.
