Match Report

-v- Swanscombe and Greenhithe at Swanscombe 30 August
Prematch
'No precautions'Moyse replaced the absent skip in an otherwise unchanged eleven for our first fixture with Swanscombe.Would Darrens carefree attitude towards sexual intercourse spill over onto the cricket field, or would he wear the proverbial cricketers condom, in an effort to ensure our fine record remained unabridged?-e?? The Match Our batting followed a similar pattern to that which we had become accustomed to.A beefed up top order (Chucks didnt open) including 'hit it on the up' Schultz and 'reproduction' Clark did an admirable job, taking us to ninety for the loss of three wickets, before we managed to surpass all previous collapses, through the loss of the last seven wicks for a paltry 24.Bill,all but carved his name on the Duck Trophy, while Daz ensured the batting averages by finding a cosy niche at no.9. Old Man had waited all season for a side ready to capitulate against his up and down trundlers and in Swanscombe his prayers were answered.Darren had presumably shot his bolt earlier in the day, as it was left to Steve to rip through the top order, while Daz got carted all over the shop.Pure joy for the skip Swanscombe found only one bat to withstand the onslaught of a wily four-pronged attack, and although Darren kept himself on to make a game of it, even his efforts were not sufficient to starve us of another win.In true Moyse tradition the result was tied up in an earth shattering climax involving Chris Wilsdon and the hands of Chucks. Steve finished with seasons best 4-29,with J.C. and Fats bagging two victims apiece.Daz didnt get anyone Post match out. By all acounts our oppo were quite sociable - Shame we are not!!!
