Match Report

Crusaders Beaten Back by Grasshoppers
The day started with revelations about Simon trying to attain the image of a gay Joey Barton, Cheasy eating a gay Hove salad, and the usual advances towards Slippers by Simon....It was going to be one of those days!!
Another unknown oppo, and hopefully not another Ewhurst! TVCC won the toss and to be safe asked them to bat first. Cross bat shots galore and no respect saw them rush to an early total before Jimbo getting the openers and for one of the wickets Wino actually making it off the ground to take a catch. Barbie Dave bowled 7 good overs mixed with a few pies and precious gobbled one up at short fine leg. Maynards and Heasman bowling well at the end to slow the run rate right down and hold them to 177ish (cant remember now thinking back!)
A target well within TVCC capability....the skipper was looking forward to a nice afternoon watching from the sidelines....not to be today. Doghouse spurred on by wife and Harvey took the award of the day for thanks for coming for a duck, and especially after another drop catch dolly earlier on!! (sorry Tom!) Slippers battled for a while before forgetting to play a shot at a straight one. Pony put things right with Wino supporting at the other end smashing a quick 25 before holing out. Dave got caught at cover (say no more) and Cheasy tried his best to replicate it...and did. Suddenly 5 down and still 130 runs to get. Not in the plan. Thankfully Boycott stuck around...he would be well dangerous if we ever get to test match status! Handbrake smashing 2 fours and a 6 early on to push nearly all the fielders back to the boundary, very negative cricket from Crusaders. The runs building gradually, inbetween Wino trying to run the skipper out by hitting straight to fielders and calling yes...not impressed! TVCC needed 18 off the last 2. Gaz had passed 50 on the way to 84 no, and winegums finding enough strike to get to his (dubious) half ton!! 18 was smashed off the penultimate over to get TVCC back to winning ways.
